4 Wheelin' Fun at Happy Valley Adventures
We recently spent a day at Happy Valley Adventures. Located a few kilometres north of Nelson city, this farm park area offers a range of activities for the young and not so young. Our occasion was a joint birthday for a 50-something and her 70-something mother, and our activity of choice was quad biking. The age range of our group was 4 years to 75 years, so it was a great activity for us all.
The activity started with a training and skills lesson in a paddock circuit. Once we had all mastered going forward, back and around, and carrying a pillion passenger, we were off. The gentle creek that we first crossed with trepidation was a different story at the end of the trip, but that’s for later in the blog. Up the hill track and through some lovely native forest, we arrived at the "SkyWire" flying fox. Barry was the only one game enough to take this one on.
After a ride further up the hill, we stopped at this stunning outlook for a complimentary afternoon tea. Refreshed, we headed back down hill, stopping part way down at a circuit that has been developed for a bit of racing, now that we all had our confidence up. And to finish off, remember that stream we all slowly crossed at the start? It was full throttle and blasting through, with no worries about getting a bit of a splash at the end of a hot ride. This was great fun for all the family.
Happy Valley Adventures offer quad biking, Skywire, horse treking, paintball, and Argo rides. It’s a great place to spend the day, and offers excellent activities for conference groups, friends, families and school groups.
So, spend an extra night at Chelsea Park Motor Lodge in Nelson, and enjoy the Cable Bay area with Happy Valley Adventures.
